This website, michaelharrisusa.com, is run by MH Made LLC, an Ohio company doing business as Michael Harris ("Michael Harris," "we," "us"). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Who we sell to

Michael Harris supplies dinnerware, flatware and wood serving pieces to restaurants, hotels, distributors and other hospitality businesses. We also sell individual pieces to retail customers.

• Retail customers can buy any item by the piece.
• Hospitality and Distributor accounts buy stoneware and bone china by the case pack and flatware by the dozen.
• MH Wood is sold by the piece to everyone.
• Hospitality and Distributor pricing requires an approved trade account. We may approve, decline or close a trade account at our discretion.

Pricing and payment

Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice. Gold and platinum banding and patterns are priced by quote, and we confirm that price before your order is final. Sales tax is charged where required. Approved trade accounts pay on the terms shown on their invoice. If an order is affected by a pricing or listing error, we may cancel it and refund any payment.

Orders and availability

An order is accepted once we confirm it. Stock is limited, and an item shown as sold out can't be ordered until it's restocked. If we can't fill part of an order, we'll tell you and refund that part.

Samples

Hospitality customers can request free samples. Retail customers who want to see a piece first can buy a single piece.

Custom decoration

• Minimum order is 12 dozen per piece.
• Artwork review and a digital proof are done within 3 business days.
• A decorated, fired sample ships 1.5 to 2.5 weeks after the $250 sample payment.
• Production ships about 6 to 8 weeks after you approve the sample.
• You confirm you have the right to use any logo, artwork or text you send us, and you agree to cover any claim that it infringes someone else's rights.
• Fired color can vary slightly from screens and digital proofs. The approved fired sample is the standard for your order.
• Custom decorated items are made to order. They can't be canceled once production starts and can't be returned.

Shipping

Stock stoneware and bone china ship from our Ohio warehouse, usually within 3 to 5 business days. MH Wood ships in 5 to 7 business days, and laser engraved wood in 1 to 2 weeks. Transit time after that depends on the carrier. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery.

Damage and defects

Please inspect your order when it arrives. Report any damage or defect within 7 days of delivery, with photos of the pieces and the carton, to info@michaelharrisusa.com. We replace damaged or defective pieces. Our Refund policy has the full details.

Care and use

Follow the care instructions on each product page. Stoneware is oven safe to 400°F; never use it under a broiler or move it from the cooler straight into a hot oven. Gold and platinum decoration is not microwave safe. Our dark stained trays are made from reclaimed wood and are not food safe, so food must sit on a cover such as a placemat or butcher paper, never directly on the wood.

Utensil marks on matte glazes

Matte glazes have a fine, slightly textured surface, and knives and forks can leave grey lines on it, especially in daily commercial service. These marks are metal left behind by the utensil, not scratches in the glaze. They are a normal result of use, are not a defect, and don't affect how the piece performs.

Most marks lift with a non-abrasive cream cleanser, such as Bar Keepers Friend, and a soft damp cloth. To reduce marking, use good quality stainless flatware, scrape plates with a plastic or rubber spatula, wash flatware separately from plates, and lift plates rather than sliding them across each other.

Photos, text and designs on this site belong to Michael Harris or are used with permission. Glaze colors and finishes can look slightly different on screen, and some lifestyle images are digitally produced to show our products in use.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or business interruption.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here applies to orders placed after the update.
